ASN media activities

During May, 2006, ASN media promotion centered on Albania and Montenegro, while in June 2006, the media promotion expanded to the territories of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Kosovo and Metohija, while continuing in Albania and Montenegro.

Furthermore, the Forum for Ethnic Relations started an intense media campaign dedicated to promoting the ASN Belgrade Conference 2006 in Serbia. The media strategy included: Organising press conferences to announce the ASN Conference, writing daily press releases for each day of the Conference, regular contacts with media, providing them with all relevant information about the Conference  Program, writing daily summaries with updates on the most interesting events from the Main and Side events part of the Conference Program.

On September 24th 2006, at the Media Centre in Sava Centre, only four days before the conference, FER organized the Press Conference announcing the ASN Belgrade Conference 2006. The speakers were: Dušan Janjić, Paul Shoup, Helena Zdravković and Slobodan Bošković.

Approximately 15 journalists coming from different Belgrade-based news agencies and televisions attended the Press Conference and reported about the ASN Conference in the evening news or in daily newspapers.

Media coverage

The Serbian Broadcasting Corporation – RTS, was the general media sponsor of the entire event. Other media houses such as Radio Television of Kosovo, TV 5 from Macedonia and Rusian Gazzetta were regional media sponsors.

The Conference was open to the media with an agreement that only the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation – RTS had exclusive rights for interviews with prominent participants of the conference.  Certain panels were recorded and have been transmitted since the end of the conference. Apart from the RTS journalists, during the three days of Conference 58 correspondents from 42 media agencies were present and reported from the conference.
